I currently reside in Stanley with my husband-David, son-Caleb, daughter-Allee, and our beagle-Aggie . I grew up in Luray and attended Luray High School. Upon high school graduation in 2002, I attended Radford University in Radford, VA for 1 year majoring in Accounting. After working hard, I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a Hokie and transferred to Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2006. Since I love education so much, I wasn't finished with school and decided to obtain a background in teaching. After much thought, I enrolled in the graduate program for education at Virginia Tech. I chose the path of becoming a Business and Information Technology teacher and completed my student teaching at Salem High School in Salem, VA. In May 2007, I completed my graduate program at VT and graduated with a Master of Science in Career and Technical Education with my teaching license in Business and Information Technology with an additional endorsement in keyboarding.
In August 2007, I began my first teaching position with Page County Public Schools at Page County Technical Center where I taught Alternative Education to at risk high school students. In 2008, I transferred to Luray High School to teach Technology Education to 8th through 12th graders. In 2009, I made a transfer to Page County Middle School where I taught computer applications to 8th graders for the past 3 years. In 2012, I came back to my bulldog roots and began teaching computer education electives and keyboarding at Luray Middle School.
As an educator, I believe that a child's future is my utmost responsibility. I feel that if I can make a positive impact in a child's education, my goal as an educator has been achieved. I also believe that integrating technology in education is key to student success. Technology allows students to explore and learn to the best of their ability in their own ways. I hope in some way that I will make a positive impact in the lives of each student I teach.
